The Banana Leaf Restaurant @ Centrepoint Bandar Utama offers a straightforward, no-frills South Indian dining experience tucked inside the shopping complex in Bandar Utama. This spot leans into the classic mamak style you’d expect—comfort food served quickly in a casual setting, making it practical for a laid-back lunch, supper, or a low-key catch-up with friends.

The atmosphere here is spacious and somewhat utilitarian, with plenty of seating options including some cushioned spots, which brings a bit of ease to the otherwise simple décor. It’s the kind of place where locals drop by after work or during weekend shopping trips to Centrepoint, seeking familiar flavors without fuss. The air conditioning and relaxed dining space complement the meal well, offering a break from the bustle of the mall.

Food-wise, the menu sticks close to classic South Indian and Mamak essentials. Dishes like roti canai, tandoori chicken, and the Banana Leaf Rice Set are at the heart of the experience—comforting, flavor-forward, and quick to hit the table. The Maggi goreng with egg is a favorite for those craving a simple, satisfying meal or supper, perfect alongside a glass of their ice coffee or refreshing ice ginger tea. Although the tea preparations might divide opinions, it remains a staple part of the menu that pairs well with the flavorful curries and fried chicken options.

Parking here can be a challenge during the day, but it opens up later in the evening with reasonable charges, making this a solid option for night cravings. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick, familiar supper or meeting friends for casual conversation and easy eats, The Banana Leaf Restaurant presents itself as a reliable local spot in Bandar Utama with familiar tastes and a relaxed pace.

Overall is a very good place to yam cha especially here in Bandar Utama. Very hard to get a decent Mamak stall in this area. Their roti canai and tandoori is really good. The curry is high quality and delicious. Don’t quite enjoy the tea and income rebus though. May be different method. If the shop can be cleaner that will be awesome.

Nice cooling atmosphere. Plenty of seating, some with cushions. I ordered a Maggi goreng with egg, roti canai and teh ais. All served very quickly. Parking is easier the later you come at night. And RM1 after cerrian hours. During the day it is pretty limited.

My first mamak supper since I can’t recall when la. I was here to meet up with old friends and some catch ups. So ended here to try the Maggi goreng with fried egg. It’s been long time and the Maggi goreng was delicious with a solid 6.2 and of course I would be back for more if I decided to meet my old friends
